2018 US-China Airline Operations Safety Symposium

On November 13-14, 2018 CAAC and ACP held its Fourth Airline Operations Safety Symposium in Chongqing, China.? The Symposium, which included over 200 representatives, was sponsored by The Boeing Company. CAAC highly appraised the event as a great success--thanks in large part to the many US aviation safety experts that joined us, and the relevance of material and case studies presented on the Symposium sub theme--“Loss of Control”.

Chief Safety Inspector Tang Weibin, Deputy Director General Zhu Tao, and Deputy Director General Xue Shijun led the esteemed Chinese delegation which included many ACP friends from CAAC, ATMB, CAAC regional administrations, and representatives from close to 40 Chinese airlines.?

ACP Co-chair John Bruns; Chengdu Consul General Jim Mullinax, and FAA Deputy Executive Director of Flight Standards Service Michael Zenkovich provided remarks. Director of System Safety and Regulatory Affairs for Boeing Commercial Airplanes led the distinguished Boeing team of safety experts. ?

We also were joined by representatives from numerous ACP member companies including United Airlines, Delta, UPS, and Polar Air Cargo.

During his opening remarks, Chief Safety Inspector Tang Weibin underscored the importance and need to enhance US-China safety cooperation given that the US and China are the two largest aviation markets in the world.? He also emphasized the importance and contributions made by ACP to China’s aviation development.
